This conference of professionals gathers annually to address questions pertaining to rickettsial pathogenesis, with this year&#8217;s emphasis on emerging approaches and concepts pertaining to rickettsial bacteria and the relationship to both arthropod and vertebrate hosts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Swetha presented her poster &#8220;<strong>A Pilot Study to Characterize Immunogenic Proteins from <em>Ehrlichia canis <\/em>and <em>Anaplasma platys<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; exploring the genetic similarities of both pathogens and the initial steps towards a proposed cross-protective vaccine.
