Dr. Richard "Rick" Gerhold is a Certified Wildlife Biologist and a board-certified veterinary parasitologist who received his MS and PhD from the University of Georgia. His focus is on parasitic diseases of wild and domestic animals. He is well published and has secured multiple extramural grants from wildlife agencies, research centers and the National Park Service.
One Health aspect of parasites and other infectios and non-infectious diseases of domestic and wild animals. Toxoplasmosis, avian protozoal parasites, cervid parasites and diseases of wild turkeys and black bears.
As a parasitologist, Dr. Gerhold assists with identification of parasites and consulting with various individuals on clinical parasitology issues.
