Overview

Dr. Millis received his veterinary degree from Cornell University, and completed his small animal internship and surgery residency at Michigan State University. After serving on the faculty at Mississippi State University, he came to the University of Tennessee in 1993.

Research Focus

Research interests include osteoarthritis, gait evaluation, sports medicine, physical rehabilitation, and modulation of bone healing.

Clinical Focus

General interest is that of small animal orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, and physical rehabilitation.

Teaching Focus

Veterinary orthopedics and advanced orthopedics, osteoarthritis case manager course, nonsurgical orthopedics course, and principles and practice of surgery.

Outreach Focus

Oversees the University of Tennessee Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner program which is taught on 6 continents, as well as a frequent speaker at international meetings.
