Federica Morandi, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVR and ECVDI, EBVS

Dr. Morandi obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Parma, Italy, in 1996, completed an imaging internship at the Swedish University or Agricultural Sciences, followed by a radiology residency and master’s degree at the Ohio State University. She is board certified by the ECVDI (2001) and ACVR (2002). Dr. Morandi joined the UTCVM faculty in 2001, and has been Director of Radiological Services since 2007. Over the years, Dr. Morandi has been active in both the ECVDI and the ACVR, serving on numerous committees (among others, the Residency Standard and Evaluation Committee, Resident Research Award Grant Review committee, Associate Editor for Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound, and twice as Executive Council member). She has been ACVR President as well as President of the ACVR Society of Veterinary Nuclear Medicine. She has published extensively in her field and authored numerous book chapters on diagnostic imaging.
Many aspects of diagnostic imaging, with particular focus on CT (especially pulmonary CT and CT-angiography); nuclear medicine (including PET, PET/CT); diagnosis of vascular anomalies.
As Director of Radiological services at UTCVM, Dr. Morandi oversees the activities of all imaging services, as well as radiation safety; and rotates through all imaging modalities.
Normal Radiographic Anatomy (1st year); Diagnostic Imaging (3rd year); Advance Imaging Elective (3rd year); training of interns and radiology residents.
Dr. Morandi is active in both the ACVR and ECVDI, and has been invited speaker in national and international conferences.
