Dr. Newkirk is an anatomic pathologist with an interest in ocular and neuropathology.
Dr. Newkirk's research interests revolve around the eye. In addition, Dr. Newkirk supports the research interests of veterinary students, pathology residents and her colleagues.
Dr. Newkirk enjoys spending her clinical time reading biopsies or performing necropsies.
Dr. Newkirk teaches in all levels of the veterinary curriculum and mentors pathology residents. In the pre-clinical curriculum, she teaches microanatomy, general pathology, neuropathology and ocular pathology.
Dr. Newkirk enjoys mentoring undergraduates and helping them understand the depth and breadth of opportunities in veterinary medicine.
