Overview

Dr. Billy Thomas received his DVM in 1985 from Auburn University. He was in a mixed-animal practice for several years in Pensacola, FL before returning to Auburn to complete a residency in neurology and neurosurgery. After two years at NC State’s veterinary college as an instructor, he joined the faculty at UTCVM. He and his wife, also a veterinarian, live on a horse farm and raise Trakehners. His areas of interest are neurosurgery and epilepsy

Research Focus

Research interests include transcranial Doppler ultrasonography: Developing a non-invasive technique to measure blood flow velocity in the major cerebral vessels

Clinical Focus

My general clinical interest is neurology and neurosurgery, with a specific interest in brain surgery and imaging of brain disease.
