 OLAC's mission is to provide excellent customer service to facilitate the research and teaching missions of the University while concurrently providing for the safe and ethical treatment of research animals. To achieve our mission, OLAC provides preventative health care, routine health monitoring, clinical care, and 24-hour emergency service. Non-routine veterinary services are offered on a fee for service basis. Moreover, OLAC veterinarians are available for consultation on issues related to: regulatory and standard compliance; prevention, alleviation, and minimization of animal pain and distress; animal model selection; and research design.
