Increase opportunities to make UT College of Veterinary Medicine a destination of choice for leaders in the field of veterinary medicine.

  1. Facilitate the well-being of faculty and staff
    • Enact quality of life improvements for College employees
    • Intentionally cultivate an environment where faculty, staff, and learners can debate ideas, take risks, grow professionally, use their strengths, and experience meaningful, sustainable careers
    • Seek sustainable mechanisms to reduce the administrative burden for employees
    • Establish and promote workflows and communications mechanisms that support and enhance employee success in achieving their respective goals
    • Seek ways to improve total compensation packages
    • Recognize and reward excellence
  2. Provide opportunities for professional leadership development as well as mentorship
    • Assess the potential for career growth within our College and expand career ladders as needed
    • Seek ways to increase support for continuing education and professional development, including sabbaticals
    • Increase awareness of existing resources and support for professional development
    • Explore opportunities to encourage professional organization membership and recognition of leadership and activities in these roles
    • Incentivize mentorship and provide training opportunities for potential mentors and leadership positions
