If you are a new client, please contact us to setup your CoreOne Portal account.

CoreOne Helpline: Email utcoreone@utk.edu or call UTCVM at 865-974-5771.

If you are an active client of UTCVM Diagnostic Laboratory Services, a CoreOne portal account will automatically be created for your clinic (one account per clinic). On or before October 20, 2025, you will receive an email with instructions for activating your account and setting your password.

If you do not have an active account with UTCVM Diagnostic Laboratory Services, your clinic will need to create a single CoreOne Portal account. Once registered, your information will be stored to make future submissions faster and easier. Multiple staff members within the same clinic may use the shared account to submit and track laboratory samples.

The CoreOne Portal is UTCVM’s new online system for submitting diagnostic laboratory samples. It streamlines submissions, and allows you to track cases in real time.

The portal is available to referring veterinarians and authorized clinic staff. Pet owners will not have direct access.

  • Order and manage test submissions quickly and easily
  • View sample collection guidelines, test pricing, and results
  • Track the progress of test submissions in real time
  • View invoices and make secure online payments

Yes. To create lab submissions, order tests electronically, check submission progress, view finalized results, or access invoices and online payments, you must use the CoreOne Portal. Using CoreOne provides your clinic with quick and secure access to patient information 24/7 and is strongly encouraged.

Test results can be viewed through your CoreOne Portal. Test results are also sent to your preferred email or fax number on file. For new clinics, your communication preference will be recorded at the time of registration. UTCVM strongly encourages clinics to select email as their preferred method, as fax transmissions carry a higher risk of failure.

Yes. A CoreOne Portal account allows electronic test ordering from all UTCVM laboratory services, including anatomic pathology (biopsy and necropsy), bacteriology/mycology, clinical pathology, endocrinology, parasitology, and virology/immunology. Please note that the Pharmacology Laboratory primarily supports research, and its tests cannot be ordered through CoreOne at this time.

Yes, a VOLVet Portal account is necessary to request sample pickups through the UTCVM Courier Service and obtain discounted FedEx shipping labels. This portal also includes a referral guide that provides detailed guidelines for patient referrals to specific services and estimates for common procedures/treatments.

No. Your clinic’s existing VOLVet Portal login will remain active, so there is no need to create a new account. For more information, please visit the VOLVet Portal

Yes. The portal is HIPAA- and veterinary-client confidentiality–compliant, using secure, encrypted transmission of records.

Submission Information

UTCVM Diagnostic Laboratory Services will eventually charge an accession fee, but this will not be implemented for a few months. In future, we will charge a nominal accession fee per sample submission event (not per specimen). For example, submitting a CBC, chemistry panel, and cortisol concentration for the same patient at once will generate a single accession fee. More details will be forthcoming in future.

Yes. Once your submission is successfully submitted through CoreOne, a PDF of the submission will be available for you to print to include with your specimen shipment.
