Research Summary

The Equine Performance and Rehabilitation Center (EPCR), under the Direction of Dr. Steve Adair, provides clinical patient care, including clinical trials, and advanced research for various musculoskeletal disease and rehabilitation techniques. The Center is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation modalities, lameness kinematics area, and a full-size indoor arena. Advanced research is supported by a 12-camera Vicon motion capture system, a Noraxon wireless EMG system, a Tekscan pressure mat system, and an inertial sensor gait analysis system. Additional equipment available to the EPRC includes diagnostic imaging systems such as digital radiography, ultrasonography, Computed Tomography (40-slice, helical), MRI (1.5T), and Nuclear Scintigraphy.
