A word from our Associate Dean of Outreach
Dear UTCVM Friends,
Over the last few years, the cost of space and food has drastically increased and we are struggling to compete with larger conferences in the region. Due to these challenges, we will not be hosting an annual conference in 2026.
However, we will have alternate options for CE hours in 2026.
- We will be hosting the Veterinary Health and Nutrition Conference January 23 and 24, 2026 and you can get all required 20 credits for the year. For more information, please visit: Veterinary Health and Nutrition CE Conference
- We are partnering with Vet Vacation CE to have a destination conference in the Florida Keys. This event offers 15 hours of CE and will take place February 9-11, 2026. Our very own internal medicine specialist, Dr. Sarah Schmid, will be one of the speakers. We will also have a reception the evening of February 10 for UTCVM alumni. This is a great opportunity to get your CE and a little relaxation at the same time. For more information visit: UTCVM Florida Keys CE
- UTCVM will be sponsoring two sessions at the Music City Veterinary Conference in middle Tennessee which takes place February 27 – March 1, 2026. One session features our behaviorist, Dr. Julia Albright, and the second session will feature our farm animal specialist, Dr. Joe Smith. UTCVM’s class reunion for classes ending in 1 and 6 (i.e., 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, etc.) will also be held in conjunction with this year’s MCVC conference. More details on the reunion will be sent out to alumni in those classes in October. For more information about the conference visit: Music City Vet Conference
- Lastly, every year our college hosts the Henton “last chance” conference in December. This year the conference will be held on campus December 9-11, 2025. We will host it on campus in 2026 as well but the dates are not set yet. For information on this year, visit: Henton Conference 2025
One more exciting piece of news – Open House is coming back in 2026! For more information visit: UTCVM Open House We hope to see you at one or more events in 2026. Have a great fall and Go Vols!
Best Regards,
Marcy
