Relief Efforts for Animal-related Supplies

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture has requested that the UT College of Veterinary Medicine serve as the lead for animal-related supplies that have been requested from our affected communities in East Tennessee. 

“Our college is committed to our partnership with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture to support the people and animals in counties affected by Hurricane Helene,” said Dr. Marcy Souza, associate dean for Outreach and Global Engagement at the veterinary college. “The public’s help supports the human-animal bond that becomes even more important in tough times.”

Items from the campus community and the public can be donated at the east end of Brehm Animal Science Arena located on the UT agricultural campus at 2506 River Drive, Knoxville on the following days/times:

We will be accepting donations from the campus community and public at the Brehm Animal Science Arena, 2506 River Drive, Knoxville on the following days/times:

  • Wednesday, October 2: 2-6pm
  • Thursday, October 3: 5-7pm
  • Friday, October 4: 2-6pm

Please follow signs to the drop-off point.  If needed, additional times will be added to the schedule for drop-offs.  Please ONLY bring the supplies requested by the state:

  • Dog/puppy food: dry or canned
  • Cat/kitten food: dry or canned
  • Food for rabbits and other small pets
  • Cat litter
  • Grain/Pellets for livestock including horses, cattle, sheep/goats, and chickens
  • Square bales of hay.  Please DO NOT donate round bales.
