Each year, more than 1,000 students apply to the UT College of Veterinary Medicine; 85 are chosen to become our colleagues in training for the next four years. In anticipation of finishing three years of strenuous classroom studies, the members of the Class of 2023 are counting down the days until they begin their clinical year. Ella Berger

Career interest: Small animal medicine (private practice)

Favorite classes: Endocrine and Dermatology

Ella is a co-president of UTCVM’s chapter of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM). She loves cooking and surfing!

Maddy Bennett

Career interest: ER and Critical Care

Favorite classes: Cardiology

Maddy serves as the VOICE- Broad Spectrum (Veterinarians as One Inclusive Community for Empowerment) president and works in our small animal emergency department. After graduation, she hopes to specialize in critical care and move to a beach town! In her free time, she loves to travel, snowboard, and work out.

Alyssa Baker

Alyssa is the Avian, Wildlife, & Exotics club co-president and the Lafeber Student Representative.

Allie Andrews

Favorite classes: Alimentary and Multispecies Medicine

Allie is a co-president of Christian Veterinary Fellowship. She loves being able to meet fellow classmates and talk about shared experiences as vet students and Christians. She also worked on the small animal surgery emergency team and large animal emergency and critical care team. In her free time, she enjoys reading, horseback riding, playing with her goats, and spending time with family, friends, and her boyfriend.
