The Commencement and Hooding Ceremony for the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine’s Class of 2024 will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:00AM. The ceremony will take place in the James R. Cox Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building located at 1408 Middle Dr, Knoxville.
Dr. Marc Caldwell, Associate Professor of Farm Animal Field Service at the College, is the keynote speaker. Miriam Espino Gonzalez and Ben Muñoz will deliver the Class of 2024 remarks. Dr. Joe Smith, Assistant Professor of Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery, will serve as the faculty standard bearer, and Drs. Diane Hendrix, Small Animal Interim Department and Professor of Ophthalmology, and Luca Giori, Associate Professor of Endocrinology, will serve as hooders. Drs. Rachel Fladung, Large Animal Clinical Sciences, and Stephanie Steuri, Small Animal Clinical Sciences, will serve as class marshals.
The Graduate Hooding Ceremony will also be held Saturday, May 18. It will be held at 9:00am at the Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center on campus. The Comparative and Experimental Medicine program celebrates five spring graduates:
- MS – Layla Gray, mentor Dr. Liz Collar
- MS- Tim Chamberlain, mentor Dr. Robert Reed
- PhD – Allison Renwick, mentor Dr. Brian Whitlock
- Dual DVM/PhD – Eliza Baker, mentor Dr. Rick Gerhold
- Dual DVM/PhD – Samantha Kuschke, mentor Dr. Deb Miller
