The Commencement and Hooding Ceremony for the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine’s Class of 2024 was held Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the James R. Cox Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building located at 1408 Middle Dr, Knoxville.
Dr. Andi Lear, Associate Professor of Farm Animal Field Service at the College, was the keynote speaker. Nicholas Britt and Kendra Rich delivered the Class of 2025 remarks. Dr. Karen Tobias, Institute Professor of Small Animal Surgery, served as the faculty standard bearer, and Drs. Talisha Moore, Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology, and Christopher Smith, Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesia, served as faculty hooders. Drs. Lily Davis, Small Animal Clinical Sciences, and Jake Salzman, Small Animal Clinical Sciences, served as class marshals.
The Doctoral Hooding Ceremony for PhD students was held on Thursday, May 15, at the Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center. The event was webcast. Comparative and Experimental Medicine graduate student Jeronimo Silva was selected as the speaker for that ceremony. The honor recognizes his exceptional achievements and significant contributions throughout his doctoral studies. Silva also received this year’s Graduate Student Senate Award for Excellence in Graduate Research. The ceremony for MS students was held on Friday, May 16, at the Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center on campus. It was also webcast. The Comparative and Experimental Medicine program celebrated its spring graduates:
