Congratulations to Jeanine Williamson, the new Veterinary Medicine Liaison Librarian at Pendergrass Library; the library is located in the College of Veterinary Medicine on the UT Institute of Agriculture campus in Knoxville. She has served in an interim role at Pendergrass during the last year following Ann Viera’s retirement.

As liaison, Jeanine is responsible for outreach to the veterinary college and has skills in supporting citation management programs such as EndNote and database searching in PubMed, CAB Abstracts, etc. “I look forward to working with everyone in the veterinary college because I admire people who further the well-being of animals,” said Jeanine. As liaison, Jeanine is responsible for further developing the online and print collections and will serve as the IACUC contact at the UT Libraries and as the OneHealth Scholar.

Jeanine has been a science and technology librarian at UT for twenty years. Before joining UT she was a science librarian at the University of Rhode Island. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina in information science and a Master of Library Science at the University of Alabama. She has a tuxedo cat named Silverado.

“She has knowledge of services available throughout the University Libraries,” said UT Libraries Associate Dean, Teresa Walker, Ph.D. “Jeanine is a talented researcher and fantastic listener.”
