Equine Field Services

Side Menu

The Equine Field Service is an extension of the UT Veterinary Medical Center (UTVMC) Equine Hospital that brings our hospital to your location and ensure continuity of care for our equine patients. Faculty members are board-certified veterinarians in Equine Practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or who have advanced training in nutrition.

The Field Service clinicians, along with residents, interns, and the fourth year veterinary students, work closely with clinicians at the Equine Hospital at the UTVMC to provide prompt and high quality care for your horse at your premises. If necessary, our team can refer horses to our hospital for advanced diagnostics or emergency treatment.

Equine Field Service collaborates with local veterinary practitioners, is actively involved in continuing education, and faculty members participate in different clinical trials.

Equine Field Service has fully equipped veterinary trucks to serve horse owners of our community located within approximately 35 miles of the UTVMC.

For veterinarians needing consultation on problem herds, please contact us directly. If necessary, longer travel distances can be accommodated. Horses requiring advanced diagnosis or treatment should be referred to the UTVMC.
