Patients from all regions of the United States rely on our soft tissue surgery service. The soft tissue surgery service located in the John and Ann Tickle Small Animal Hospital at the University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical Center (UTVMC) provides care for small animals with surgical conditions of the skin, head, neck, chest, and abdomen.

Our soft tissue surgical team includes veterinarians who are board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), surgery residents, and licensed veterinary technicians. In addition, 4th-year veterinary students and newly graduated veterinarians support owners and their pets with compassionate and expert care. Our surgeons have a wide range of experience in general surgery and specialized procedures.

MRI, CT angiography, nuclear scintigraphy, intraoperative fluoroscopy, laparoscopy, vessel sealing devices, LASER, stapling devices, and VAC wound closure.

We work closely with other specialty services including anesthesia, radiology, oncology, internal medicine, nutrition, physical therapy, and emergency critical care to provide you and your pet with exceptional care and compassion.
