The University of Tennessee offers the services of a Certified Journeyman Farrier (CJF) and surgeons knowledgeable in diseases of the foot.

Abnormalities of the foot are quite common and many are difficult to resolve. Foot problems, such a keratoma, quittor, and canker, require surgical correction, are performed at the University of Tennessee.

We commonly treat horses affected with the following conditions:

  • chronic laminitis
  • navicular syndrome
  • quarter cracks
  • white line disease
  • angular/flexural limb deformities
